Adding fck Rich Text Editor to your Coldfusion forms & customising the Toolbar set |

Whilst writing a Content Management System (CMS) recently I thought I'd take the time to go over some Coldfusion 8 functionality that passed me by when it was released.
In Coldfusion 8 the fck editor was included as part of the server installation. This article deals with integrating it into your forms, and how to build a custom tool bar set to manage the options displayed with it.

Creating an image preview using JQuery and a select form field |

This article will deal with a user choosing a value from a Select field, and that selection being passed to a JQuery handler. The JQuery handler will perform an AJAX request to a CFC, which will return a JSON value (URL String) that we will use to populate an img html tag.
In this way when you select different options from the select field drop down, the image changes inline, without any page reloads.

Validating checkboxes using the JQuery validate plug-in |

I have recently spent some time building a dynamic XML driven form generator. The last element of this was the checkbox form element.
